It started with an email response to refinance our home and Jake's ensuing (cold) call. After listening to what we had to say and what was important to us, Jake took the time to understand and provide us with a plan that suited us best. He explained the proverbial whys and wherefores, but most importantly, he was always open to hear what we had to say (or ask.) Once we were comfortable with his bedside manner (so to speak) we began giving him all our information. And, that's when it dawned on us, that we had been down this road before only to be burned by an unscrupulous company; besides the fee we had naively given our most important (personal) information. Realizing this I decided we'd be more comfortable delivering the information in person, frankly, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a boiler room operation. When I explained this to Jake, he welcomed us to come in and meet him at our convenience. Naturally, we took him up on the offer. Jake was as even more amicable in person than on the phone. His sincerity bolstered his professionalism. He was thorough in his explanation of exactly what was needed; be it the documents or the credit reports. He was on top of everything. Nothing seemed to "sit" on his desk. Questions were answered and instructions were given promptly. He was more than familiar with the various processes to explain why a particular document or phone call might be of importance to reaching our goal. He was patient as he guided us through the e-signature process. When introduced to Keith, the information flow was seamless. We didn't have to revisit the whole story over again, we were able to move from point A to point B as if Keith had been right by Jake's side all along. Needless to say our goal was met.
BUT IT DOESN'T STOP THERE.
In the midst of the initial transaction Alma and I decided we were ready to downsize and relocate. There was never a moment when we thought we would go to another bank for the mortgage. After all, Jake had all our paperwork and our confidence. So, once again, we climbed aboard. Naturally the second time around was easier because the majority of our paperwork was in hand and current. Again, Jake made this as (dare I say) enjoyable a process as it could be. As a matter of fact I truly believe we caught the seller off-guard because we were so well prepared and ready to buy, the moment the offer was excepted. Again, his knowledge of the process and factors necessary to bring this transaction to fruition facilitated our end of the bargain.
Truth be told, I would prefer (and plan) never to buy another home or refinance this one; BUT if it did come to pass we'd seek Jake out! Hopefully by that time Meadowbrook will have promoted him to a position high within the ranks of the company - you'd be foolish to do otherwise.
