Sergeant Smith began his military career in the United States Air Force as a Communication and Navigation Systems Technician assigned to the 16 Component Repair Squadron (CRS) Hurlburt Field, FL where he performed maintenance on the HH-53G and C-130P/N models. In January 2003 palace chased to the NYANG as a Communication and Navigation System Technician on the HH-60G and C-130P/N models. Deployed to Baghdad, Iraqi in September 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), then to Bagram, Afghanistan December 2008 for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Completed the initial qualification course for Flight Engineer at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico July 2010. November 2012 transitioned as a Special Mission Aviator. Deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan November 2012 for (OEF). Deployed to Al Asad AB, Iraqi for (OIF) January 2018. 0ctober 2020 supported New York State with the Covid-19 Mission.
